History of Italy
Italy has been taken from the word Italia which means calf land, which is probably because the Southern Italian tribes had bull as their symbol. Italy is officially known as ‘Repubblica Italiana’and almost four-fifths of it is covered with hills and mountains. The country comprises of more masterpieces per square mile than any other country across the globe. It is also home to one of the oldest universities situated in Rome which was founded in 1303 A.D. and is usually referred to as ‘La Sapienza’, there are around 150,000 students in the university.
